There's two cassettes in this compilation, one's an Opti and the other is LFL. There's a few other effects too. All captured in real time, just four Tutor 2 projectors, two Solar animators and a liquid wheel. Back to the 70's with a touch of reggae.

LFL No.45

After the wheel, came the cassette, a smaller 3 inch assembly of two glass discs, each with slightly varying shapes and opposing colours, one remained static, whilst the other rotated, dots and stripes converged and diverged to create colour changing moire patterns. One of these effects can be seen in the navigation bar strip, on the left.

The liquid idea was also used in the cassette, sometimes alongside patterns, or sometimes with logos.

Shown below, is the logo cassette, from the top of the page, in disassembled form. The outer, moving case can be seen, separately from the inner, static assembly with the ball-race that facilitates smooth rotation.

A Pluto wireless connection cassette rotator. Cassettes usually rotate faster than wheels, at around 5 rpm.

L.F.L. (Light Fantastic Ltd.) produced some amazingly bright cassette effects. Above, shown moving, the first is No. 45, the lower one is number 57.
In the static picture below, number 38, which can be seen in moving form, repeated down the page from the navigation bar.

This one could be either Opti or L.F.L.

It's L.F.L. but they both made this design.

L.F.L. again, those colours tell the tale.
